English civil war military ghosts
The ghosts or spirits of soldiers who fought in battle during the English civil war and were killed during the battle could be seen still fighting and dying long after the battle ended, according to witnesses.
Their ghosts or spirits were seen after the battle of Naseby, in Northamptonshire, England, on the 14th. June 1645.
On each anniversary of the battle local people would gather on a hill overlooking the battlefield and watch the battle taking place again.
They said that they saw cavalry charging, soldiers fighting and being killed, and could hear the screams of the wounded and the sound of cannon (artillery) fire in the night sky over the battlefield.
The custom of watching the battle take place again lasted for about 100 years after the battle.
